Firstline Factors lost to Hellesdon 3-7.
An entertaining opener for the new season with both teams fighting hard for the points. Mel Humphries was on top form for the visitors with an impresive maximum. Firstline Factors stormed into a 3-1 lead with Peter Wright scoring a double and the hosts looked to be in a commanding position. Hellesdon clawed their way back into the game with Mel being ably supported by his colleagues. John Howlett saved two match points against Alan Walpole to finally win in five sets in the ninth game of the night to seal a victory that looked very unlikely two hours earlier.
