In a very close and competative match, an inspired John Monk defeated no power Henderson and Howlett after being 7-5 down in the fifth to Hendo and down 8-5 in the fifth to Howlett he did not lose another point to win 11-7 and 11-8 this secured the draw for Taverham. Lauren had a very close tussle with Philip coming back from 2-0 down to force a fifth game only to just lose 12-10 in the fifth.

A fine win for Paul Barrett over Russell was the only success for the B side. It was great to see brother Steve back in action for the B side.

Forced into a chopping game by Newton Flotman's Number 1, Jenkinson chose his moments carefully to go for dramatic loops. One particularly wonderful loop sent John and the ball spinning in different directions. The crowd began to applaud Jenkinson's skill but John suddenly recovered and managed to get his bat on the ball and steer it over the net and over the head of the Shelly Telly Number 1. The crowd began to applaud William's skill when Jenkinson suddenly raced to the very corner of the hall and smashed the ball across the table out of William's reach. The crowd went wild and then settled down to watch another fifteen minutes of challenging chops before Williams won the tie. Wendy Hicks had another great night and managed to take a game with an impressive 11-1 scoreline off City Council Sports Champion Roy Blower; Cunningham did some brilliant backhands and Savage also had some lovely loops. Briston A lost to Taverham A 4-6.
Bob Webster played but unable to enter on system, however will sort ASAP. Lauren was again in good form winning all her games including the doubles. Robin Thaxter excellent win over John Monk was the highlight for Briston A

15/06/1900, played at Hill & Perks Room, Miller Hall.
Wensum C beat Gothic D 7-3.
Avery competitive match played at Wensum's great new home venue. Lindsey Dare and Daniel Dalmay both chipped in with impressive maximums. Daniel playing very well and if he continues to improve he will be a fine player. Steve Andrews played very well for the visitors beating Sam rock in a great match. Alex Symonds played well but found Bob Stevenson very awkward, Bob played well to win in four sets. A great nights sport, good luck to the Gothic team for the rest of the season.

Paul Durrant starred in the relegation battle against Briston A, he took all his singles and then took the crucial doubles with son Chris 11-6 in the fifth to ensure a 6-4 win for Gothic. Alan Jones also showed good form with a brace. Gerry Rudley for Briston ensured it was always a close match with a brace as well.
